Helping Cliff with some new project. Not got high hopes, but he’s paying me. Well, he’s going to be paying me.

So… I live in this super small village in the middle of nowhere, Norfolk (basically Minecraft superflat country), and we’re so small that our local newspaper has basically abandoned us. Which I get. Who really wants to waste column inches for articles about the birthdays of sanctuary donkeys or local roadworks? Not the Grunton and Grinton Journal, that’s who. But the busybodies are clamoring for material to twitch their curtains at, and Cliff and I are stepping up to give it to them. And Les, to a lesser extent. He’s let us borrow this ancient Windows XP desktop. Thanks, Les.

I’m doing the web design obviously, but it’s going pretty roughly because my HTML experience began and ended in making personal websites in like 2003. But I want to get paid so I’m not telling Cliff that. I’m also filling in all the forms for the grant money, but at least I’m actually pretty good at that.

Used to deal with the Mid-Norfolk Arts Council through work and volunteering and stuff, so I know how to say what they want to hear. Unfortunately I think our only competition for this year’s grant money is the music department at Gribley Primary School (who, quite famously, are so underfunded that they only have bongos in their music classroom), so if we win we’ll be depriving children of the three recorders and a triangle that they want so badly. But Cliff has his heart set on this, so… Sorry kids.

We’re calling it the Gribley Gazette. Got a few article ideas lined up. Guess I get to be a journalist now!
