How White-Pawed Erowek Came Down from the Mountain and Gave Us Our Grain (An Annotated Þewekini Classic)
I wrote this piece during my second year of university. It was graded an 80. It is an exploration into myths and mythology, and a reflection on the difficulty of translating stories from one culture to another whilst maintaining a level of authenticity. It was inspired by my experience reading Ancient Greek myths during my first year of university, and the challenging experience of constantly flicking between the main text and the translator’s footnotes in order to understand various cultural references.
I tried to format the text to sit nicely on the page, but it just wouldn’t behave itself, so I had to embed the document as a PDF. Enjoy!
